Reflect, Rest, and Rise: A Post-Election Check-In for melanin muses

Rest isn’t a retreat—it’s a revolution.

melanin muses,

The election season may be behind us, but its echoes linger in our hearts and minds. Many of us cast our votes with hope for change, envisioning a future where a Black woman like Kamala Harris takes the presidency. We knew the road ahead wouldn’t be easy, but our collective efforts reminded the world of the power of our voices and dreams.

Now, as we reflect on what’s next, it’s important to take this time for ourselves—for rest, for healing, and for nurturing the dreams that fuel our futures. Progress isn’t just about the battles we fight in public; it’s also about how we care for ourselves in private.

Let’s use this time to focus inward, to celebrate how far we’ve come, and to prepare for what’s ahead. Rest isn’t a retreat—it’s a revolution. And keeping a positive outlook on life, even in the face of challenges, is how we continue to rise.

With love and light,

melanin muse® team

This is not the first time that a president has lacked equitable interests. There has and always will be obstacles in the road of any civilization. The future is always uncertain, but the past or present shouldn’t sway you to prematurely determine life’s outlook or to generalize.

@lakilaj:
“Resilience is often celebrated, but let’s talk about non-toxic resilience 💪🏿As women, we’re molded to be resilient in so many roles – as mothers, sisters, wives, CEOs, and executives. But in the workplace, resilience can sometimes take on a toxic form, where we’re expected to keep pushing through at the cost of our well-being. True resilience means acknowledging the challenges, especially in this post-pandemic reality, and equipping ourselves with the self-care tools we need to thrive 🌿💖. It’s time to redefine what resilience looks like, and prioritize our wellness.”
